On Saturday, February 7, 2026, middle school students from across Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD gathered at Marine Creek Middle School for this year’s UIL Academic Meet, showcasing months of preparation, teamwork and academic excellence. Students from Creekview Middle School, Ed Willkie Middle School, Highland Middle School, Marine Creek Middle School, Prairie Vista Middle School and Wayside Middle School competed in a wide range of challenging events designed to test their skills and knowledge.

Participants demonstrated their talents in academic contests spanning writing, mathematics, science, social studies, speaking events, performance and fine arts. Throughout the day, campuses celebrated individual medalists and top finishers at each grade level before team points were tallied for overall standings.

The race for the top two spots came down to the wire. Wayside Middle School earned first place overall with 851.66 points, narrowly edging out Creekview Middle School, which finished second with 837 points. The close competition reflected the dedication and preparation seen across all campuses.

Wayside claimed first place in both the sixth and seventh grade divisions and finished second in eighth grade to secure the overall championship. Creekview earned first place in eighth grade along with strong finishes in sixth and seventh grades to secure second place overall.

Highland Middle School finished third overall, followed by Marine Creek Middle School in fourth, Ed Willkie Middle School in fifth and Prairie Vista Middle School in sixth.

Campuses across the district celebrated students who earned individual honors, tried new events and represented their schools with pride. The annual UIL Academic Meet continues to highlight the commitment of students, sponsors and coaches throughout Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD and reflects the district’s dedication to providing rigorous academic opportunities for all learners.
